Icebreakers with Rory's Story Cubes

Rory's Story Cubes

I love Rory's Story Cubes, and I'm always looking for new ways to use them. I also love icebreaker questions. The other night I was hanging with some friends and we discovered that Story Cubes very naturally provide seeds for icebreakers. Here's how it works:

Someone grabs a die and rolls it. She uses the picture to formulate a question, and asks one other player of her choice. Some real-life examples:

- Map: "What's one place you've always wanted to visit?"
- Backpack: "What's one object you always carry with you?
- People fighting: "Did you ever get in a fight with your siblings?"

If you don't like what you rolled, you can reroll -- but now you have to roll two dice and incorporate both into your question. (The easy way is to start with "Would you rather...".)

Then, whoever answers the question gets to roll a die and ask one.

Repeat until bored!
